This is because Olivia’s actually been taught how to play tennis, by a professional.
As a result, when she steps on the court…she knows what she’s doing.
Now, imagine her opponent, Madeline.
Madeline has loads of enthusiasm, some natural ability, and can hit a ball back and forth.
She’s played a bit of tennis, too, and can make some good shots.
But she’s never actually been taught how to play tennis: how to serve, return, volley, position herself on the court etc…
Consequently, she’s not terribly consistent and, by her own admission, is a bit ‘all over the place’…
Now, consider the following question:
If you were asked to place a bet, on which of the two tennis players described above, would WIN a match between the two, on a typical day…
Who would your put your money on?
Yep…I’d put my money on Olivia as well…
